A REGENCY PERIOD AMBOYNA WOOD JUPES TABLE circa 1890

Commissioned by Private client (featured in Country Life Magazine, national tabloid newspapers and exhibited in the Dubai Interior Design Show)

Copied from a photograph only this piece is made from solid Swietenia Mahogany throughout and veneered with Amboyna Burl. The pedestal column and carved lions paw feet are made from solid Amboyna Burl. The top is divided into 8 segments and measures 4ft 6in in diameter, These segments are connected to a solid brass mechanism which on rotation of the top only, opens the segments to allow a further 8 leaves to be inserted (which are housed in the matching cabinet) Closing the table to a 6ft diameter.
